On the evening of September 15, Xiaopeng P5, the third mass production car of Xiaopeng Automobile, was officially launched. The new car is positioned as a compact pure electric car. The NEDC has a range of 460/550/600km. Its biggest highlight is that it is equipped with laser radar, which can realize the urban NGP (navigation assisted driving) function in the future.
At the press conference, He Xiaopeng, chairman and CEO of Xiaopeng Automobile, said that Xiaopeng P5 has the strongest intelligent hardware system of Xiaopeng Automobile so far, including 2 laser radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, 5 millimeter wave radars, 13 high-definition cameras, and 1 high-precision positioning unit, which is the strongest hardware system at the same level. In tunnels, foggy weather, rainy and snowy weather, dark light environment and other special scenarios, it can significantly improve the perception ability and make travel safer.
He Xiaopeng said: “The family car in the new era should enjoy the best configuration of the era. We want to build the best 200000 intelligent family car, which is the best in the smart car and the best in the fuel car. The Xiaopeng P5 is to achieve this goal. As the world’s first mass-produced smart car equipped with laser radar, the launch of the Xiaopeng P5 represents the official arrival of the era of intelligent new family car.”
It is understood that there are six models of Xiaopeng P5, including 460G, 460E, 550G, 550E, 550P and 600P, and the price of the new car after subsidy is 1579-223900 yuan.
The new XPILOT 3.5 intelligent auxiliary driving system makes Xiaopeng P5 the world’s first intelligent vehicle with urban NGP function, and the application range of NGP extends from high-speed/expressway to urban roads.
In addition to the new urban NGP function, XPILOT 3.5 will also bring the enhanced version of high-speed NGP-L intelligent navigation assisted driving, and the better experience of VPA-L cross-floor parking lot memory parking, across B1 and B2, to achieve “cross-floor” memory parking in the parking lot.
In addition, with the help of laser radar, the functions of the ACC – L full speed adaptive endurance system enhanced version and the LCC – L lane center control enhanced version are also optimized. Xiaopeng P5 has earlier recognition of congested vehicles and more accurate recognition of stationary vehicles. At the same time, the ability to perceive small objects will also be stronger, and the comfort under congested road conditions will increase.
For the power part, Xiaopeng P5 is equipped with a drive motor with a maximum power of 155kW and a peak torque of 310N · m. The acceleration time of 100km is about 7.5 seconds. It has three NEDC durations of 460km, 550km and 600km.
The new car supports such functions as appointment charging and battery insulation. It takes 30-40 minutes for fast charging from 30% to 80%. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with heat pump air conditioning, which greatly reduces the winter endurance loss.
