According to the early news of the IPO, Shanghai Longhui Medical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Longhui Medical”) recently announced the completion of a round B financing of nearly 100 million yuan, led by Shanlan Capital and Sinopharm Capital, with the Shanghai Free Trade Zone Fund as the investment partner, and Digital Health Capital serving as the exclusive financial advisor.
Longhui Medical was founded in 2017, and according to the Tianyancha App, in August 2021, the company received a round A financing from Zhangjiang Science and Technology Investment. Longhui Medical focuses on the field of joint replacement surgical robots, and its product, Trex-RS, has independent intellectual property rights, filling the international gap in similar product technology for many years.
According to Smart Bud data, Longhui Medical has a total of over 20 patent applications, with a patent growth rate of 1400% in the past three years, showing a rapid growth trend. Currently, it mainly conducts patent layout in the technical fields of robotics, orthopedic surgery, joint replacement, femoral condyle, and accommodation holes.
In March of this year, TRex-RS surgical robot performed the world’s first total hip replacement surgery for a patient with severe hip dysplasia at the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University. TRex-RS has broken through many world-class technical difficulties, including achieving positioning, aiming, and operation in six spatial degrees of freedom under various postural conditions, and achieving real-time 3D aiming dynamic tracking, to avoid errors caused by patient postural micro-movement during the operation process. At the same time, it is compatible with various prosthetic brands and models at home and abroad, allowing surgeons to be free from brand usage restrictions, providing the most user-friendly service and technical support for surgery. At the same time, this robot participates in the formulation of preoperative surgery plans throughout the process, and performs accurately and efficiently during surgery.
TRex-RS has surpassed international brands in terms of functionality and design. From the perspective of the total hip replacement surgery scenario, the surgical operation includes eight steps: femoral neck osteotomy, acetabular grinding, acetabular prosthesis implantation, femoral medullary cavity opening, distal femoral filing, proximal femoral filing, femoral prosthesis implantation, and reduction testing. The Longhui robot can participate in the entire process of the surgery. In contrast, the robotic arms of some foreign and domestic surgical robots of the same type can only participate in three of these links.
Longhui Medical has cooperated with Weifang People’s Hospital to launch a clinical trial of a total hip joint robot, and the clinical trial enrollment is about to be completed, which means that more orthopedic doctors can use Longhui medical robots.
